Just returned from a five day family trip to the Hidden Mtn Resorts. Thank God for having a STRONG KNIT family to pull the family fun out of everything. The only thing that kept us leaving was no refund. However, they dropped the ball on repeat customers who were devoted to the kind of establishment they used to be. Yes, this property used to be the highest marks. I hope this helps another family from not making the same mistake. It was an automated response letting us know we brought the matter up. They never acknowledged us till days later on email. Before leaving I emailed the office, giving them time to come and talk about all the disappointments. This property has truely been left to neglect! It once was such a majestic, worth every penny, fabulous place to say you stayed. The wall-paper is falling down in the bathroom, the fireplace (repairman showed us) you have to nudge it with your foot on the bottom to get the gas to ignite. Then the underneath the house there is standing water that is stagnant. They said, "they would talk to owners of the place". ![]() Fourth, upon scrutiny of the Hot water tank and talking to another 2 repairmen, it is not only unsafe w/ no safety sheild, no containment of gas flame emitting, they agreed the tank must not be any good. The repair guy put a nail at the top and said they are always breaking. It leaks, and there is black mold in all crevices of cedar wood that surrounds tub! Third, the living room has a french door that when suppose to be shut is gaped open. Not only did the Hot water tank not fill one 1/2 full. However for the future travelers, some things you should be aware of at over $200.00 a night. ![]() Too list all of the serious problems with it, would be a mini-book. This time it was VERY expensive but we knew the Homestead cabins and wanted a special place for our family. We went back for Christmas w/ our college daughter. We left word with them because of the price it costs we believe all the unit should be in clean, working order. This had a couple of things wrong, however did not affect out vacation. Second time was about 6 years ago I believe and it was again one of the Homestead Cabins. Our first time was at the Iris House-Fabulous many years ago. Contact us to schedule a showing. Our family has stayed 3 times at Hidden Mountain-Homestead Cabins.
